Blu-Ray is the Winner.

Looks like the Playstation 3 has won the HD player compatibilty war.
The Xbox 360 did not even support HD-DVD, only in the form of a external player. This was a sign that if a company is willing to integrate a technology officially in mainstream consoles, then the standard must be a solid contender.

Interestingly, lately, before the announcement of Toshiba's pull out of selling HD-DVD, sales of Blu-ray discs to HD-DVD was 4 to 1. Why the massive difference?

Honestly, the name Blu-ray sounds nice.
And, the extra storage is by far a bonus.

Now consumers can follow a path of Blu-ray for their high definition TV's, Finally.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or high end PC?

So you have money?
Good.
Do you have time?
Good.
Do you want to teleport yourself to a fantasy world?
Good...

To enjoy the latest games you need to have some gold in your wallet. With the high price for decent hardware and the rediculous price of each latest release game, one must work a lot to support the selection of various games.

To play the games you need time. If you have a family to look after, if you are working many hours a weeks and if you play sports, one simply has no time to truly get into a game.

Thirdly, is it a smart idea to put all your brain thought and energy into a task that has no development, apart from instant gratification? I would say not so. I would like to think games are used as a release valve to everyday pressures, and not as a source of containing and bottling pressures.
